Um.
Because it looked fun. And the last OCT I was in was really fun, and I wanna see if I can pull it off again....sound reasonable? XD

Oh and yes, I just had to use Tooty for something so there you go.

The backstory maaay need a little tiny bit of tinkering and tweaking, but y'know...that's because I gave you guys the non-TL;DR version because well I get too carried away when I manage to backstory and after awhile it turns into rambling and

Trainer

Name: Gwen Chillums
Gender: Female
Age: 21
Personality: If you were to take a determined Snorlax and a determined Spinda, blend them together, and put them in a human body, you would successfully create Gwen. She appears to be very tired all the time, often finding that she has trouble staying awake sometimes. On top of this, she can be pretty klutzy, often letting things slip out of her arms and doing things wrong. When she talks, she talks as though she'd just woken up from a deep sleep – very slowly and very exhausted sounding. Despite all this, Gwen is actually pretty smart, and actually has a pretty wide variety of knowledge. She disregards any bother the world has to give and just does what she needs to do. Although it usually takes a long time, she generally gets the job done.

History:
What would you do if you were to go in front of your friends and say that the reason you slept in was because an entire flock of Butterfree attacked you with Sleep Powder? Pretty embarrassing, right?

This is more than can be said for Gwen at age 19. During her journey to begin researching Pokemon off her mountainside home, she and her Pichu, Bee, had carelessly disturbed quite a nest of bug Pokemon. The next thing she knew, she'd been conked out after hearing her partner leap into thunderous action on the Butterfree.

She'd woken up to find that Bee had been passed out a few paces away, and wasted absolutely no time scooping him up. She had sought to find her way home to where she could rest her studies for awhile. However, on the way up the blistering snowy mountainside, she'd felt the Sleep Powder effects start to occur again. Just how much of it had she inhaled? Either way, it seemed the next thing she had seen was the whiteness of the snow, and the blackness of her eyelids shutting again.

Again, Gwen had woken up to find that her Pichu partner had been missing from her arms and this time, her sight as well. Instead she could make out a snow trail near her, and a different Pokemon floating about. One that she'd seen before, a Vanillite. Though it was very oddly colored to her, it still appeared friendly – looking as though it wanted her to follow it along the snow trail.

Of course she complied with a bit of hesitation, after all Bee was still missing...but after what felt like hours of climbing, the blizzard cleared a bit to reveal her mountainside home...and Bee waiting there for her.

Since that incident, Gwen had still showed many signs of drowsiness. But her determination pressed her on to keep her studies up. She'd still been living on her own with only her Pokemon by her side, and it'd taken a couple of years to get used to a normal sleeping schedule. But by then she'd been working on composing a book based on her Pokemon research....Well, it was either that, or attend the Mage Academy.

Well, what did she have to lose?

Extra:
• If you really wanna make Gwen panic for real, all you need to do is steal her glasses! She can't see a thing without her glasses....
• Gwen wears gloves solely for the purpose of handling a Vanillite 24/7. Your hands'd be cold too, wouldn't they?
• Gwen is very very disorganized. You turn your back to let her finish writing something, and the next minute it will look like a Tornadus blew through the room.


Pokemon

Name: Tooty
Gender: Female
Pokemon: Xatu
Nature: Quirky
Ability: Early Bird
Moveset: Night Shade, Confuse Ray, Teleport, Psychic
History/Personality:

Despite being Gwen's last Pokemon, Tooty had evolved shockingly fast. (much to Bee's chagrin) Not much is known about where the little Natu with the broken wing came from, but had been baited by the food in Gwen's possession. Of course it would not leave the trainer alone once it finally got a bite....And of course it had only stuck around because it expected more food. But ever since Gwen had healed her wing, Tooty has gladly been a part of Gwen's roster.

Tooty is what you would call a very eager Xatu. She doesn't tell the future or stare at the sun all the time, nor has she shown any particular urge to....no, no, this Xatu prefers to have fun and let excitement grab a hold of her immediately. Her way of life is like fortune telling....la vida loca style.

Extra:
• Tooty is actually mute. She creates absolutely no noises whatsoever, which is what makes it hard to see her antics coming.
• She can use Psychic to speak if she wants to, but she doesn't do it too often unless it's necessary.
• She enjoys very shiny things, and can often be found wearing Gwen's glasses because of this. (Hide the silverware!)
While she doesn't stare at the sun much, she does stare at the stars frequently....Sometimes for the entire night until the stars fade away. This is the only time you'll find her actually calm.

Name: Chet
Gender: Male
Pokemon: Vanillite*
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Icy Body
Moveset: Harden, Icy Wind, Avalanche, Taunt
History/Personality:

Chet was Gwen's second pokemon, and the one that had guided her home when she was falling asleep in a blizzard. Even though he wasn't a pokemon she had been expecting to tag along with her in her life, they'd grown very fond of each other.

Chet is happy. No, really, what can you say? He's a very joyous little guy! He often floats about and around people, that stupid grin on his face. Nothing that Gwen can find has ever brought Chet down into a bad mood. And take her word for it, she's tried....That smile's frozen.

Extra:
• That little grin on his face never comes off. Ever. Creepy right?
• He appears to really idolize Bee and Tooty, because they are older than him and battle real good....
• ...Speaking of, Chet is not really the best at battling despite being Gwen's first trained pokemon. He still does his very best, though! Nothing can stop him!

Gender: Male
Pokemon: Pikachu
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Static
Moveset: Thunder Wave, Quick Attack, Thunderbolt, Tail Whip
History/Personality:

Believe it or don't, this Pikachu was actually pretty cheery when it had befriended Gwen during her studies! He would play, he would laugh, just as a Pichu would....And then he evolved. Of course the bitterness and stubbornness didn't set in immediately, it set in when he realized that evolving to his final stage would be tougher than before. On top of the fact that his owner had trouble finding her own socks, let alone an actual thunder stone....Well, evolving's not gonna work. Thus set in Bee – the ornery Grumpachu

Bee is very bitter and pessimistic, hating pretty much everything that moves and/or breathes. The rest of his over-the-top teammates don't help one bit either. Despite the fact that he allows himself to help them out when they need it, he doesn't believe in 'service with a smile', and does practically everything with that frown of his.

Extra:
• He hate hate haaaaaates getting his cheeks pinched. Try it and you'll be seeing quite a lot of lightning.
• He actually doesn't like his own moveset, and has even tried forcing himself to learn different moves....but that's nothing he can control too much.
• Sometimes, if he gets hungry in the middle of the night, he secretly bites off of Chet...
